for when you have no internet…

I’m feeling kinda pissed off right now, so I think I’m going to rage blog today :O I’ll try not to be specifically insulting to anyone, and I’m just going to talk about things I hate and things that annoy me…

• I hate Internet Explorer. It’s so fucking slow, it’s stupid enough to try to connect to the Internet when it’s just OPENING A NEW TAB, and it’s retarded enough to crash if you happen to accidentally click inside the window while you are opening a new tab… No customisation: no proper addons, themes, advanced configuration. No community behind the project, like with Firefox. In other words, it’s a load of crap.
• I hate the NSW government. Cityrail is Cityfail. The DET was screwed-up enough to go ahead with the laptops scheme, which is going terribly (not to mention that they aren’t even proper laptops). Sydney’s transport system is in chaos, and we are the only state not to have a T-card system. And, above all, the state government is BROKE. Good job guys…
• I hate Facebook. Once upon a time, it may have seemed like a great idea – but now there are SO MANY sites like that, it just seems stupid to have a profile there. Why would you like Facebook? ALL OF IT is copied off somewhere else. The useless profile information? Sure, perfect if you feel like being stalked by someone like Joshua… Uploading photos? It’s called Twitpic, Yfrog or another of the billion image hosting services for Twitter. Videos? Twitvid, Vidly… the list goes on and on. The apps and games? All ports from flash games already on the Internet. The status updates? Hello people, it’s called TWITTER. Twitter is what social networking is all about: telling people about yourself however you want to, whenever you want to. You can have almost real-time conversations with people, and ‘following’ them lets you know about their daily lives, their problems, their thoughts. Not to mention that the Twitter API is very clever, and there are heaps of amazing apps for analysing your tweets (TweetStats), desktop clients (DestroyTwitter), and so forth. The bottom line: GET TWITTER.
• I hate our touch team. Because it SUCKS. I’m not saying I’m a touch pro or anything, because I’m definitely not, but at least I know how to play… unlike some of our team members now. To be honest, our team at the start of the year was a shitload better. Why? We were a smaller team, so we knew each other and communicated better. We actually subbed off when we were tired, not becoming ball hogs like Kiran or Yilang. And we didn’t ask for subs every 10 seconds like is happening now… I swear the next time I get on and someone asks me to sub a few seconds later, I AM NOT DOING IT. And as previously said, a few of the new members in our team just SUCK.
• I hate two members of our class. Everyone else is cool, except for them. One of them, of course, is our “best friend” Linda Wu. The other person I won’t name, however they should know who they are, because they’re freaking annoying. They always brag about their marks and try to make you feel like shit about yours. They have no respect for your privacy or personal space.They think they’re cool, when they’re obviously not. And they could do with an Eclipse every once in a while…
• I hate K/J/C-Pop. Yeah, that Asian junk people like Amy listen to all the time… What strikes me as odd are two things: a) why would you listen to a song you don’t even understand, and b) why on earth would you be obsessive over guys dressing up as girls and kissing each other? That’s just a BIT disturbing…
• I hate Twilight. Why on earth would you pay to watch a piece of crap like that, let alone line up in New York for DAYS ON END just to be IN THE FRONT of the queue for the premiere of the movie, which you’re not even going to be able to watch..? Ben and I went to watch the first movie (for free ), and that was THE WORST waste of 1hr 20mins of my life ever… I think we took turns going to the toilet just to get out of the movie theatre :O Needless to say, the first movie forever put me off watching the others…
• I hate people who try to make it seem as if they know what they’re talking about, when they actually have no idea. In my case, that especially applies to computers… I’ve been dealing with computers almost for as long as I could talk, and trying to bullshit your way past that is not easy, believe me… If you don’t know something, leave it to the people who do.
• I hate people who are only your “friends” when they need it to be that way. Those people who are all take and no give. The people you can’t avoid meeting in your everyday life, and no matter how hard you try to avoid them, they just keep coming back. I’m usually too nice to say NO, but I think that’ll change soon…
• I hate people who don’t appreciate Anu enough. ‘Nuf said, really. If you don’t worship Anu before you go to sleep every night, you’re a douche.
• I hate Apple. Bet you weren’t expecting that one… But it’s not for the quality or design of their products, which is simply exceptional. I hate Apple because their products are too damn EXPENSIVE. It really kills me, because they are a ‘young’ company with so much POTENTIAL. I want you to think about this for a second: what would the computing world be like if Apple cut the prices for their Macs say, in half? Bill Gates would be living with the Bondi Caveman, that’s what… (And by the way, it’s kinda sad for the Waverley Council to throw his home away like that :O – one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and that was obviously his Aladdin’s Cave…).
